Amish Back Roads Bicycle Tour

Location: Hamburg, Pennsylvania

Description: It’s impossible not to fall in love with the lush countryside of bucolic Lancaster County. Visit with and learn about the Old Order Amish and their Mennonite neighbors in a place where Pennsylvania Deutsch is still spoken in the home and English is a second language. You’ll feel the gentler rhythms of an earlier time engulf you as you ride through the rich farmland, past fields still ploughed by draft horses, and into the rolling hills of the Oley and Lehigh valleys. The Amish Back Roads tour includes 5 nights lodging in the best available accomodations along our glorious, winding route. Also included are 6 full breakfasts, 4 dinners, loads of cool sight seeing, our full SAG support with plenty of drinks and goodies to stoke you while you pedal along our marked roads. (Yes, we have cue sheets and where possible, multiple route options, too.) We’ll also take care of all your baggage transportation and give you a folksy t-shirt to help you remember where you’ve been. We hope you’ll come and join us on our Amish Back Roads adventure. It’s one of our favorites, and we bet it will become one of yours, too.

Route: The route is a 360 mile loop through the rolling farm land of rural Lancaster County, PA, home to the largest Amish community in the country. Please visit our website http://www.scampnrascal.com./BackRoadsdaybyday.html for a day by day itinary of the tour.
