Tour de St George

Location: St George, Utah

Description: Come out and enjoy a great fall cycling classic! The Tour de St George will take you through southwest Utah’s premier areas including three state parks! Rides include a full century, 65 mile , and 30 mile option. Red Rock Bicycles and Castle Rock Multisports will be providing great swag, shirts, and other great stuff. Portions of the proceeds will go to the St George Bike Recovery Program.

Route: The ride will begin at the new Town Square (Corner of Tabernacle & Main St) in St George, UT at 8:00am. This route will take you through three State Parks, Snow Canyon, Sand Hollow and Quail Creek. All three distance groups will start together and will head out to the Hurricane Hwy via Washington Fields and Telegraph. At the Hurricane Hwy, the 30 mile riders will peel away and head back to town via Telegraph and Washington Fields while the 65 and 100 mile riders will continue on around Sand Hollow State Park and into the town of Hurricane. After winding through the city the route climbs up to the unusually lush city of Toquerville before descending back down to the third State Park, Quail Reservoir. Keep an eye out, just past Leeds you will find one of the only places on earth that silver was discovered in sandstone. Just past Quail Reservoir, you will re-encounter highway 9 and the 65 mile riders will backtrack back into St. George through one of the agricultural areas of Washington County while the 100 mile riders will continue up to Snow Canyon State Park via the Red Hills Pkwy. Ye Be Warned: The climb up to the top of Snow Canyon is steep and the decent into the park is fast, so save some energy. After the park, the route skirts the edge of St. George proper and shoots you back up to the Start/Finish area.
